Extra Mooolah

I honestly thought that after graduation the money train would not be struggling as hard as it was in college. But I was like most other things in my life WRONG.....sad day......

There are a lot of things that I'm wanting right now and a lot of things I am wanting to get caught up on and get paid off (credit cards and all that fun crap that comes with adulting).

I am REALLY wanting a new vehicle, I've had mine for almost 10 years and it has almost 300 thousand miles on it, yes you read that correctly, but in all honesty currently I don't NEED a new one (props for knowing the difference in a want and a need). My car is still running fine and it's paid off.

Next is student loans those haven't started just yet but they will and oh will they start. For the next 20 years every extra penny I owe will go to that. Hence, another reason I don't want to purchase a car just yet, I need to make sure money is sufficient and I won't stretch myself to thin.

I had been thinking about getting a part time job, but was really picky with where I wanted to work. I knew I didn't want to wait tables, I knew I didn't want to work in retail where they have stupid Black Friday hours. Well a few days of thinking where I wanted to work (I always knew I wanted to work at James Avery) an email came through that James Avery was hiring seasonal help, I applied, I interviewed, and got offered the job that day!!

I start next Sunday and I can't wait!!!! I am really praying that they keep me on after the holidays, because the extra money all year round would be great!

I'm not just excited for the extra money I'm also excited about getting to meet new people, I've been here for about 6 months and still don't really know any more people than I did before I moved down here and I'm pumped that I won't just go home and watch Netflix all evening.

  3. Knowing the difference between want and need is huge! Not sure if you've heard of this before but if you're interested in tracking where your money is going and having a tool to help you budget and pay off those student loans I would recommend mint.com. I have had an account for years but haven't been utilizing that tool like I should. But that's changing right now! And congrats on scoring that part time job! You'll rock it.
