#feelinscrappy

and why do we wear pink?!?!?

Okay, maybe not really but honestly who doesn't love a Mean Girls reference?!?!?! I am from a VERY small town and if you aren't from a small town you truly are missing out. Yes most times I hate that everyone knows my business before I do, but the really AMAZING thing about small towns is that when something goes wrong we all ban together to support each other. We literally take care of our own. I have stood at benefits where items have gone for over 15 thousand dollars just to help out a family that is swimming in hospital bills after a loved one passed away unexpectedly. You just don't have that everywhere.

Today, I am #feelinscrappy and I'm wearing my pink for one of the sweetest, kind heart'ed, loving people in our town. She always has a smile on her face and is also so happy to see you. Today she is fighting a battle with breast cancer. So on Wednesdays we wear PINK!!

I think about her and her battle daily, she is #feelinscrappy and I know will come out of this on the other side with having kicked cancers ASS!! Wednesdays she goes to treatment at MD Anderson one of the best cancer hospitals in our area. She has a support system of at least a thousand people, please add to that say a small prayer for her and her family as they fight this fight.

Cancer doesn't discriminate and it is such an awful sickness, I am thankful for the advances in medicine that will help her to beat this.

So next Wednesday put your pink on and start #feelinscrappy with her and all of those fighting this battle.

M.I.A

I try so hard to be a good blogger, and I get all these posts ready and that's good for about a week and thennnnn life happens.

The first time I blogged (confession: I wish I wouldn't have deleted my original blog, there's still time to go back right lol) I tried so hard to be the "cool" blogger that only posted funny things, did contests, and just wanted the most comments on my posts.

This time isn't like that, this time I just need to get my thoughts out and hopefully along the way help someone else out. I don't need to have the most reads or the largest amount of followers. I just want that something I say to help someone else going through a similar time.

So forgive me if life gets in the way and sometimes I am absent, but I promise I haven't forgotten my little space of the internet.

Mary Kay Monday

As some of you have seen there is a Mary Kay tab right up there and so far it has nothing under it (my bad). So today I figured would be a good day to tell you a little about my Mary Kay journey.

Last August my mom had a Mary Kay skin care class. Which I'll just be really honest I was not the best at taking care of my skin, when I was younger I had AWFUL acne so bad that I had to be put on Acutane. I used over the counter products and in fact tried Mary Kay when I was in high school and it only made my face worse.

So while I was excited for the pampering I was a little skeptical to try the products again. HOWEVER, my skin felt better than it had in years after using the entire skin care line and make-up products. Mary Kay has come very far from  when I tried it years ago. I can mix and match my products and now it is skin specific which I love!

My skin is oily and dry well now there is a combination skin care that I can use, the same goes for the make-up my foundation is also skin specific which is really great!

I figured I'd share a few of my favorite products once a week. So if you are interested in trying anything out let me know and  I can get you fixed up :)

And if you love the products so much you want to be a consultant also right now the kit is on sale and you can actually get 2 kits in 1.

Waiting.....

I feel like my entire life has been about waiting...
When I was 15 I couldn't WAIT to be 16 old enough to drive and freedom from my parents
At 16 I couldn't WAIT to be 18 move away to college and make a name for myself
When I got to college I couldn't WAIT to graduate
When I had my back surgery I couldn't WAIT to heal up
When I had my second back surgery I couldn't WAIT to feel my leg and walk normal again
When I broke up with a very toxic person I couldn't WAIT to go back to school
When I got back to school I couldn't WAIT to graduate
Since I've graduated I can't WAIT for my life to start..........

Yesterday I read this post from Chelsea and this post from Fal, and I realized that I wasn't the only one that gets stuck WAITING. I see everyone's post on facebook about getting engaged, getting married, having babies, buying houses and buying new cars. And it isn't always fun, I put on a smile and congratulate them, I cry at their weddings, hold their new babies, go look at their brand new homes, ride in their brand new cars all the while I'm just waiting.

I thought graduating from college would offer a new world of things that I had been missing out on because I kept waiting, but really all I've been missing out on is life.

I remind myself daily that it just isn't my turn yet, it isn't my season just yet, that doesn't mean it won't ever happen it just means that right now God knows more than I do what I am needing in my life. And it isn't an engagement heck at this point it isn't even a relationship, it isn't a new baby, it isn't a new house, it isn't a new car. I feel like he is teaching me to be happy in my current season.

However with that being said it still doesn't make any of this easier, at one point in my life I was reading the Bible every night before bed and I was building my faith and things in my life were going GREAT! Then I just stopped and things kind of started falling apart and I got anxious for so many things that I wasn't truly enjoying the season of my life. I wasn't thankful for the last few months and weeks that I was getting to spend with friends that had really become family to me over the last 2 years.

But starting today, I am going to be more thankful for my current season because in all honesty they are just bad days, not a bad life. I am healthy, I have a job, I have a roof over my head, I have food in my refrigderator, I have a car that gets me where I need to go, I have a wonderful support system behind me, and I am loved by so many.

And for those things I am thankful for this season of my life where God is teaching me so many things.......

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

No, I am not talking about Christmas I am talking about

COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEASON

It is the most wonderful time of the year, for a lot of reasons.

1.Well duh its college football
2. My dad and I bond over the games, sometimes that is through a text that is hard to understand on dad's part, at an Aggie tailgate, or just sitting in the living room being entirely to loud and yelling at the television (yes they can hear me)
3. It means that cooler weather is on its way, now mind you "cooler" in Texas is in the 80's
4. The holidays are coming up, there is nothing better than watching college football and being with family that you don't really care for and are thankful that you only get together once or twice a year :)

FriYAY!!!

The finished not so great product :)
What a crazy past few weeks it has been!!!

Thankful for these two that have turned into family
So what is going on in my world?!?!?! Well to be real honest the Bay Life is a little busy and a whole lotta crazy! I went to Painting with A Twist a few weeks ago and even though I am the LEAST artistic person in the entire universe I had a BLAST!! Plus there was wine :)

Oh this gal!!!

I have started PiYO which is really hard and a lot of fun! I have just about zero balance and ever since the last back surgery I have just about that much flexibility. Every time I fall over I just remind myself it is about progress NOT perfection! So if you'd like a good laugh I HIGHLY recommend coming to watch me.

It was a little toasty out yesterday
My friend has also talked me into running a half marathon in November. I was wanting to do both piyo and train but didn't have a clue of how to incorporate both. So I did what any brillant young woman would do.......I turned to Pinterest. I was really honestly looking for one thing and stumbled upon 2! I needed a 15 week training program and found this AMAZING training program that was 15 weeks annnnnnnnnnnnnd worked WITH piyo!!!!

This week I have ran and did piyo I am so very sore, but excited for what is to come. I am working on cleaning up my eating and I know I can do that just have to buckle down and get it done!!

And today is friYAY!!!! Which means heading home to see my mom for her birthday :).

Happy Weekend Friends.

You can do hard shit

For those that didn't follow my old blog, here is a little back story on my life.

I went to college out of high school and was there for 3 years ended up having not 1 but 2 back surgeries within months of each other. Woke up from my second with no feeling in my lower right leg from my knee to my toes.

I was in physical therapy 3x's a week for 6 months learning how to walk again. It was HARD!!!!!

After a slight detour in my life of finding myself I guess we will call it, I worked my butt off and got back into school.

In the midst of this I began to run, it was my escape it was my way to get out everything I couldn't or rather shouldn't say out loud. I wasn't fast or out to be the fastest I just needed a way to escape.

I then decided to run a half marathon and that ish was hard!!!! Just 4 short years before that I was learning how to walk again and now I'm going to RUN 13.1 miles!! It was official I had lost my ever lovin' mind. I started training one day and just went with it.

Lets recap--I am back in school and the oldest in a vast majority of my classes and that's hard and now I'm training to run a half marathon and guess what that is hard too!!!!

I ran that half marathon and I walked across that stage with my college diploma!!! I did HARD SHIT!!! And as scary as it is you can to.

When I moved to the bay and started my new job I thought for sure that I was going to get fired or I was going to quit, it was HARD!!! I have a picture of me with my medal after my half in my office and when I look at that picture I'm reminded that I CAN DO HARD SHIT and I may come out on the other side a little more bruised and banged up but I freaking did it!!

Don't let fear keep you from getting your dream, remember that you can do hard shit and when you cross that finish line or walk that stage with a diploma it is worth every bit of sweat, blood, and tears it took to get you there!!!
